Rainoshek’s Daily Tips:

Feeling cold? For those of you on Day 15 along with us, you may be over the cold phase, but for those of you who are not or who have started later than us, here is a little tip to warming up!!

We often feel chilled on a cleanse as our energy is channeled to healing. This usually shifts after the first few weeks, and your body’s temperature will begin to regulate as you become a fine tuned machine! We just heard from someone who was FREEEEEZING when she began her Feast, and she is now finding herself nice and toasty warm, even at work where she previously always felt chilled. This is so nice to hear!!

But, while you are still finding yourself shivering away, please do keep bundled up, use ginger, cayenne, hot showers, warm baths, jumping jacks, sit next to a heater, and drink you water and juices at room temperature.

AND (here comes the tip) try acupuncture!! I just spoke with my Juice Feasting friend Naomi in Montreal, where it is still snowy, cold and shivery, and she found that having an acupuncture session worked wonders for her frigid condition. She has always had trouble staying warm, and so she was really excited to report that she has been able to stay cozy while Feasting in the snow. Apparently, acupuncture will help to open up your energy channels, allowing stagnant energy to flow, better facilitating both your healing and your cozy cozy body.

Ask your acupuncturest beforehand if they have any tricks for keeping the energy flowing and facilitating body heat.

SIDE NOTE: I have a really cute story about being COZY!! The first time David and I went to Café Gratitude in San Francisco, it was late in the day and we had been walking around the city all day. I got chilled during the day, and was sitting there all chilly when the waitress arrived with our round of drinks. She gave a huge, radiant smile and said “YOU ARE COZY” I kind of sat up straighter in my seat and said “I am?!!!” Amazingly, I felt cozier than I had before she said it. It became immediately clear that she was offering me my drink, an “I am cozy” Order a “I am beautiful” and the waitress will arrive at your table saying “You are beautiful!!!”

I love that place!!

Your Questions:

Could you please post the Tomato "Soup" recipe with the basil? I wrote it down but missed a few ingredients.
Thanks!
Lisa aka Pixywinks

We Say:

‘Mato Baby Juice
(I was called ‘mato baby when I was little, because I loved tomatoes SO much. Still do)

8-10 Big tomatoes
1 bunch basil
1 bunch cilantro
1 lime
2-4 cloves garlic

‘Mato Baby Green Juice

8-10 Big tomatoes
1 big bunch spinach
1 bunch basil
1 bunch cilantro
1 bunch parsley
1-2 limes
2-4 cloves garlic

also really yummy with a pinch of Himalayan crystal salt or Celtic sea salt.

According to John Heinerman, “my own personal observations over two decades with hundreds of liver cases that I’ve consulted, nothing works better for improving the health and state of the liver promptly than does ordinary tomato juice! It is, quite literally, a bugle call to awaken the liver from any lethargy it might be in. “ Do remember that tomatoes, being night shades, affect some conditions negatively such as arthritis and psoriasis.

Tomato juice is good for: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fatigue, Hypoglycemia, Yeast Infection. All of these health problems have one thing in common – they drain the body’s energy reserves and leave it mostly in a weakened state. Tomato juice with a pinch of cayenne pepper, well stirred, will revitalize the liver and adrenal glands within half-an-hour and prove a feeling of vitality which should last for several hours. ~Heinerman’s Encyclopedia of Healing Juices

I find this really interesting, as I am CRAVING tomato juice right now and I also just heard that we store anger towards our fathers in our liver! Hmmmm, Papa if you are reading this, please know how much I love you, but I do have some childhood and adolescent angers stored in my liver perhaps? Another thing of note is that I have been thinking of my liver a lot lately, especially when I am feeling emotional…then I heard that father anger is stored in the liver, now I hear tomato is healing for the liver!! Such wonderful things this Juice Feast is doing!! I am smiling in my liver just thinking about it!

Personal Journal:

Just another day with green giant looooove! We sat down together and had our breakfast juice at the table today, said our meal prayer over our juice, and enjoyed it very much. We should do that more often. Both of us feeling strong today, and I have not been feeling hungry at all these past few days. I attribute it to drinking enough water, and I think I was mostly just thirsty on the days I felt so hungry.

Well, we ended up needing to go get more produce today despite our bulk order. I actually enjoyed the excuse to go into town, seeing Annie and Barry at Red Mountain, going to the Post Office for mail, up to the Tree of Life Café for water, dropping off recycling, the leisure of small, quiet towns is so wonderful! We didn’t need more greens, just citrus. We have both been adoring our citrus juice at the moment, and can’t imagine going even a day with out it. I also got some more tomatoes, basil, and cilantro to make my amazingly yum tomato juice!!

We got to chat over Skype with my mom today, and she is on Day 3 of a Juice Feast!! Hooray for Ma Rineke!!

I hope that everyone had a blissfully juicy Saturday!!

See you tomorrow,

With love,

Katrina and David

Yay! Thanks for posting the recipe. Also, I'm drinking more water and I got some digestive enzymes today and I'm feeling much better. I forgot to get peppermint tea at the store today, but I will get some tomorrow.
Interesting note about livers and father issues.
Hugs!

I always enjoy your daily pictures and today's tomato portrait really jumped out at me!! Although I have a plethora of produce at the moment, I am sadly tomato deficient. I must remedy that today. I also want to pick up some beautiful young herb starters I saw in front of WF's yesterday. As much as I have been enjoying herbs in my juices, one could save a lot of money buy having a nice potted herb garden, right?! Do you all have an area where you grow anything right now?

Love to you & Happy Sunday!

so so interesting about the father anger. i know i have a lot of father issues stored up inside of me, which ive helped a bit with reiki. maybe ill focus more on liver healing. i think the liver is also connected to general depression. i remember when i started seeing my acupuncturist, it was partly for depression and he commented that i had incredibly stagnant liver qi. interesting :)

bless :)
